Food Forest
We are transforming a section of the Broadway Greenway in Joliet, IL into a Food Forest. With native fruit, nuts, berries, and other plants there will be a self generating source of food for people, animals, and insects year after year. The first phase was planted quite a few years ago but we could not plant the second phase until Spring of 2021. We left the natives plantings to do their thing in 2022 and 2023 so now in 2024 they are established. The food forest is at the corner of Ingalls and Broadway in Joliet. Stop by Rich and Creamy for an ice cream cone and take a casual walk to see the food forest´s progress. There is a combination pollinator garden with edible foods in the middle of the property. It´s yours. Pick and eat.
